Technical Business Analyst

As a Technical Business Analyst, you will take on a highly varied hybrid role, responsible for working with 3rd parties to ensure delivery of key projects and working with the business to define solutions. Over time you will become a subject matter expert for core business applications.

This person can be home based if they prefer, or they can use the Birmingham based offices.

You will be supporting the Innovations Project Team to deliver critical projects in a variety of areas, including the delivery of a customer portals, core systems and temporary system solutions. The role will be outcome focussed and the delivery approach is not traditional. You are likely to be involved in a variety of activities to ensure the job gets done.

When required, and as the conduit between third-party vendors and the business, you must be flexible in your outlook and be able to wear both hats to guarantee joined up thinking between IT and business functions. You must be comfortable communicating with all levels in the organisation. While an understanding of the Energy Sector (specifically electricity) would be beneficial, the focus of the role is on the ability to clearly understand requirements and document them in a format easily shared both within and outside of the organisation. You must be able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

• At least 2 years’ experience as a Systems/Business Analyst, potentially working in a young business Proven capability to analyse, document and validate solutions within a commercial organisation
• Very strong knowledge of software packages with the ability to become a subject matter expert in the package estate
• A solid understanding of data and how this may impact processes and business propositions Experience of testing & accepting solutions delivered by 3rd parties
• Strong operational understanding of IT solutions and standard approaches to analysis using UML Experienced in delivering change
• Tenacious approach to delivering in complex and difficult situations Ability to adapt to different project requirements and ways of working The ability to be able to work in an innovative workspace
• Experience of developing Excel & Word tools using VBA
• An understanding of API’s and how these function in the context of systems integration Desire and aptitude to grow with the business
