Project manager

We are looking for a software development project manager to join our client’s thriving business.  This is a home based role although there will be occasional travel to Burton on Trent, Staffordshire, approximately once every 3-4 weeks.  The project manager will be leading and motivating a software development project team throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget and to a high quality standard.  They will ensure that best practices and efficient project management, development and testing activities are applied across all development operations.

 

Key skills

  • Prince 2 practitioner or certified SCRUM master
  • Experience of managing software development projects
  • Experience of working in an environment that is highly regulated
  • Quality management systems and standards
  • Azure DevOps
  • Stakeholder Management
  • An experienced leader and motivator
  • Happy to travel within the UK and occasionally abroad as required (driving licence required)

About the role

This person will be responsible for coordinating and managing project team members in day to day activities, and controlling the day to day operational aspects of the project, including effective management of project risks and issues.

They will ensure that client relationships and associated projects are effectively managed, including managing changes to project scope, risks and benefits within identified tolerances.

They will identify and communicate potential risks to the completion of the project

Managing, monitoring and reporting from Azure DevOps and Modern requirements platform.

Facilitating Scrum meetings, removing barriers to delivery, protecting and motivating the team and jointly evaluating delivery with the team to ensure continuous improvement

Building and maintaining strong client relationships and managing stakeholders

Having a hands-on approach to tasks not typically associated with the PM role if the situation requires it.

This is a home-based role – you will need a driving licence and your own car and be able to commute to Burton on Trent occasionally.  £45,000 – £50,000 basic per annum.  The benefits package is generous and includes flexible working around core hours, contributory pension, medical insurance, 24 days holiday + 3 days for Christmas shutdown + statutory, death in service.  It’s a well-established business with a friendly and dedicated team, and staff retention is high.
