Junior Front-end Web Developer

Essential skills and knowledge (either gained from education or within a commercial environment):

  • An established track record working as a Software Developer or relevant qualifications.
  • HTML 5 / CSS.
  • React (or other similar Javascript frameworks).
  • Experience using RESTful API services.
  • Experience with using source control, e.g. GIT.

What the role involves:

  • Working alongside a team of diverse developers in an Agile environment, you will play an integralpart in developing our core product range within the team, helping our products move forward utilising the latest generation of development tools and IDEs for PHP, JS, .NET, SQL and more.
  • Taking part in regular sprint planning sessions.
  • Helping create new features, managing improvements and bugs and dealing with general

framework tasks.

  • Managing your own tasks and workload through Jira.
  • Getting involved in regular code reviews.
  • Working within the front and back-end of our applications which involves handling both business logic and database layers via our API.
  • Learning new skills alongside developing existing skill sets.
  • Working with other developers, managers, testers and designers within the development life


Other advantageous skills and experience:

  • PHP 8.X.
  • Laravel or similar PHP framework experience.
  • Knowledge of Node.JS, particularly the Express framework.
  • Knowledge of security standards.
  • Working knowledge of XML.
  • Understanding of relational databases such as MySQL, MariaDB or similar.
  • Experience of Atlassian products.
  • Experience working with Docker.

What’s on offer:

  • £30k – £35k dependent on experience.
  • A home based role. Approximately 1 day in the office per month, so you will need to be able to commute to Burton on Trent.
